Why doesn't the Paddle Maker assemble the paddles created on the website?
There are a couple reasons why we do not assemble the products designed through our website…
The primary reasons are time and cost to the consumer. Assembling the products would require multiple days – and during our busy season, our overall order processing time would be bogged down considerably. Leaving assembly to the customer also allows us to keep the cost of our product lower as we do not need to charge for the labor it would require.
We have also found that the majority of our customers wish to paint the product using their organization colors and, were it to come pre-assembled, it would be extremely difficult to end up with a clean finished product.
I live in the Bay Area. Can I just come to your store to purchase products?
Unfortunately, we do not have a brick-and-mortar location that is set up to serve customers. If you are in the Bay Area, you can save on shipping cost by choosing “store pickup” at checkout and we will contact you to make arrangements to pick up your order at our San Jose facility.
Can the Paddle Maker manufacture a custom shaped paddle or signature board?
The Paddle Maker is a distributor – not a manufacturer – so, unfortunately, we are not equipped to cut custom-shaped products. We do, however, allow you to upload a picture of an existing product to use as a background for ordering add-on items. Once you upload your photo along with the product dimensions, all of our add-on elements will be scaled to your product.
How do I save a design in progress?
If you want to save a design in progress to complete at a later time, click on the “save” icon to the left of the design workspace. When you return to the workspace, click on the “load” icon and chose the saved design you wish to work on in order to repopulate the workspace.
Similarly, if you would like to save a snapshot of your workspace on your device, click the “download” icon and if you want to print a snapshot of your workspace, click the “printer” icon.
What is included in my order?
Your paddle and all individual components in your workspace will be shipped to you via UPS. The product WILL NOT BE ASSEMBLED and you will need to glue the pieces together upon receipt (we provide the option of purchasing wood glue for this purpose). The packing list will include an itemized list of the products ordered along with a snapshot of your design in order to serve as a template for assembly.
HELPFUL HINT: Many customers wish to paint the paddle and it’s components with your organization colors. We highly suggest that all pieces be painted and allowed to dry BEFORE assembly.
The Paddle Maker only ships paddles via UPS.
Can I pay with a credit card or do I need to use a PayPal account?
For everyone’s security, all of our orders are processed by PayPal. However, having a PayPal account is not required for payment. There is no extra charge for checking out as a guest using your credit card.
When can I expect to receive my order?
Once your payment has been processed, your order will ship within 24-48 business hours (Monday-Friday). We ship out of the San Francisco Bay Area and, once the order has been picked up by UPS, ground shipping usually takes 1-2 business days to the west coast, 2-4 business days to the mid-west, and 5 business days to the east coast (Please note that Saturday and Sunday are not considered as “business days” to UPS). When placing your order, please keep this order processing and transit time in mind as we are unable to change an order to expedited shipping once the package has been picked up by the carrier. If you have chosen the option to pick up your order, we will contact you to make arrangements once your order has been processed.
What is the Paddle Maker's returns policy?
Returns must be requested within 7 days of receipt. The customer is responsible for shipping the items back via a traceable means (i.e. UPS, Fed-Ex, or USPS with tracking services) and the return must be received within 10 business days of the request for return. Upon receipt, the customer will be credited for all items received in saleable condition. The Paddle Maker will not be held responsible for any items that have been broken or damaged in transit back to our facility. As such, it is imperative that all items are packed carefully to protect the merchandise. The customer will not be reimbursed for any shipping charges (outbound or inbound) unless there was an error in fulfillment.
